Citations for a Paper

Christy Choi Updated by Christy Choi

How do I cite an article/e-book/chapter in my paper?

Here are three ways to get help with this:

  1. Often databases provide a formatted citation. Find the article or resource that you plan to use. Look for the cite option, usually on the right or top of the screen. Select from the available formats (APA, Chicago/Turabian, MLA, etc.) to copy/paste the computer-generated citation.
  2. From the library home page, select RESEARCH --> Citation Guides. Then select the format/style guide required for your field of study to see examples of properly formatted citations for every type of resource. Use the examples to help generate or check your citations.
  3. Use NoodleTools or another online citation tool, such as Zotero, to generate your citations.
To use NoodleTools, students must create their NoodleTools accounts first.
